Red Onion
(Allium cepa )
Botanical painting of a red (or purple) onion (Allium cepa). Like most of my vegetable paintings, this one came straight from my kitchen cupboard. I do them to relax – and to keep practising. Onions make particularly good studies because of their variety of colour and texture. This picture is quite a small painting (8×10 inches). It is painted in watercolour and signed “Leone Annabella”.
