PhD

As I might have mentioned if you’re in touch with me, I’ve embarked on a Creative Writing PhD.  I’m not sure how much time (or inclination!) I’ll have to write about it, but I thought I’d add this section to my site in case I wanted to make notes.

I’ve decided to research the portrayal of paternal characters in children’s fiction and young adult literature,  or put more casually, I’m going to have a look at how father figures are coming across in stories for young people.  The kind of paternal character I’m most interested in is the nurturing father figure.
